Car insurance

See what car insurance actually costs in your state

Pick your state and coverage type. We show you typical monthly ranges and link you directly to each insurer. No email. No phone. No one calls you.

Why we show ranges instead of exact quotes

Car insurance rates are calculated by each insurer using your specific driving record, credit score, ZIP code, vehicle make and model, and claims history. No third party can generate your exact rate without that data. What we show are honest ranges based on publicly available rate filings and NAIC data — enough to tell you whether a provider is in your budget before you decide to contact them.

What moves your rate up

At-fault accidents in the last 3 years — typically adds 30–50% to your premium
DUI or reckless driving conviction — can double your rate or make you uninsurable with standard carriers
Poor credit score — in most states insurers use credit as a pricing factor and a low score can add 20–40%
Young drivers under 25 — statistically higher risk, especially males under 21
Luxury or high-performance vehicles — higher repair costs mean higher premiums
Lapses in coverage — even a short gap in your insurance history raises your rate

What moves your rate down

Clean driving record for 3+ years — the single biggest discount available
Bundling home and auto with the same insurer — typically saves 10–25%
Higher deductible — raising from $500 to $1,000 can cut your premium by 10–15%
Low annual mileage — driving under 7,500 miles per year qualifies for discounts at most carriers
Good credit score — above 750 gets you near the bottom of most rate ranges
Defensive driving course — some insurers offer 5–10% discount for completing one

What to watch for when you click through

Every insurer will ask for your email and phone number before showing you a final quote. That is unavoidable — they need it to complete the application. What you can do is use a temporary email address from a service like temp-mail.org to get the quote without committing to their marketing list. The quote will be real regardless of which email you use.

Watch for add-ons being pre-selected during the quote flow — roadside assistance, rental car coverage, and accident forgiveness are often checked by default and can add $20–$40/month. Uncheck anything you do not explicitly want before getting your final number.
